Inertia - Video Poem01.
Inertia
Inertia tells the story of a young woman’s reactions to her “hurried world” in the form of a video-poem. Beautiful cinematography and pacing support the content of the poem.

Rocket Science - Documentary 02.
Rocket Science
Rocket Science presents the story of a young band in a traditional documentary format. Interviews with band members are intercut with scenes of musical performances and ‘behind the scenes’ activities.

Chainsaw - Road Safety PSA 03.
Chainsaw PSA
The Chainsaw PSA is a strikingly original take on a road safety Public Service Announcement. It has been deemed “too edgy” for the client, though.

Out of Inc.04.
Out of Inc.
Out of Inc. exaggerates the conventions of the film noir detective story for comedic effect in this mystery.

Youth Productions
different genres and formats for your production

Youth-produced: Film and video created by young people about stories that matter to them, expressed in a way that is meaningful and relevant to them.

Film and video is an increasingly popular medium of expression for youth as the technology becomes more user-friendly and affordable. This is an important period in film and video, as the categories of ‘media consumer’ and ‘media producer’ break down. As this happens, youth also have an opportunity to challenge traditional narrative structure and genres of Hollywood filmmaking in their own productions. To get the most up-to-date information on resources available to support and distribute youth productions, you can subscribe to CuedUp, Pacific Cinémathèque's online newsletter for the youth-in-film community.
